01   Choose your collection.
Review the options above and let me know which feels right. I am happy to answer any questions before you decide.

02   Secure your date.
A 50% deposit holds your session. The remaining balance is due the day of your shoot. Payment via Venmo @carolyn-ruiz or Zelle 949-413-2582.

03   Pick your location and time.
I recommend Calafia State Beach in San Clemente. It is flat, accessible, and gorgeous at golden hour, with a paved path from the parking lot to the beach making it easy for all ages and mobility needs. We will lock in a time that works with the light and your group's schedule.

04   Plan your outfits.
If your collection includes a styling guide, I will send it ahead of time. Coordinated tones photograph beautifully. Think coastal neutrals, warm whites, and soft linens. Nothing too matchy, just cohesive.

05   Show up and enjoy it.
I will handle everything on the day, directing the group, managing the light, and keeping it relaxed. Your only job is to be present. Expect a mix of posed family portraits and candid moments throughout.

06   Receive your gallery.
Your hand-edited gallery will be ready within 3 weeks of your session date. You will receive a private, password-protected link to view, download, and order prints, easy to share with the whole family.

Groups of all ages.
I work with everyone from toddlers to grandparents and know how to keep a large group relaxed, engaged, and laughing. We will do full group shots as well as smaller family groupings throughout the session so everyone goes home with something meaningful.

What if the weather does not cooperate?
Overcast skies make for beautiful, even light with no harsh shadows or squinting. If there is rain or conditions that make shooting unsafe, we will reschedule at no charge.

Can I add downloads later?
Yes. If you start with The Essential and want more after you see your gallery, additional downloads are available for purchase directly through your private gallery link.

How does the rest of the family access the gallery?
I will send you a private, password-protected link that you can forward to anyone in your group. They can view, favorite, and order prints directly. No account needed.

Reschedule policy.
Life happens. You may reschedule once at no charge with at least 48 hours notice. Cancellations within 48 hours of the session forfeit the deposit. If I need to cancel for any reason, your deposit is fully refunded or applied to a new date, your choice.
